Introduction to Islam

Islam started in the 7th century in Saudi arabia.Its startes by it's prophet, Mohammed.Islam is among the three top Abrahimic religions.The other two being is Judaism and Christianity.Islam means SUBMISSION, which refers to submitting oneself to the one and only God, Allah.

Al Qur'an is Islam holy book.Its was revealed from Allah to the Prophet Mohammed by angel Jibril and Gabriel gradually over a period of approximately 23 years beginning in 610 when Muhammad was 40, and concluding in 632 CE, the year of his death.Muslims further believe that the Al Qur'an precisely memorized, recited and exactly written down by Muhammad's companions that we called Sahaba after each revelation was dictated by him.Muslims believe Mohammed is Allah's last prophet and Islam is His last religion.

Islam is currently the second largest religion in the world.Islam also cover more than a religion.It because Islam also covers areas of spiritual, law, politics, and society.

In Islam,there are 5 tenants to follow by all Muslims.The first one is Shahadah refers to tenet of Islam which is means "I testify that there is no god, but Allah, and Mohammed is his prophet". The second one is Salah.It is the ritual prayer for all Muslim.Must be performed five times a day.The third one is Zakat.Its means the giving of alms.The fourth one is Sawm.Sawm is fasting day during the month of Ramadhan and lastly is Hajj,the pilgrims to the city of Mecca.Its must be done once in a person's lifetime.
